How is the team selected for the squad?

For each event, the team needs to present a team of 10 sailors. A squad is a group of between ten (10) and twenty-five (25) athletes who are eligible to be selected for a team. Seven sailors are chosen by the country captain, and three of them must be top-ranked. The team must include at least two women, and at least one woman must always be on board.

How many people are on board and how many boats are in one race?

It can be 8, 9, or 10 sailors onboard, depending on the total weight (max 730kg) and wind conditions. The positions are: Helm/Skipper, Bow, Mid-Bow, Pit, Grinder, Trimmer, Main Trimmer, Tactician, and Floater. The Captain’s role goes beyond team selection and can also involve sailing. In the SSL Gold Cup and SSL qualifiers, there are four boats (teams) in one race.
